    Mindset for Success

One of the greatest gifts I’ve given to myself over the years has been the gift of self-reflection and personal growth. So today, I’m excited to share with you 4 of the biggest business and life lessons, that are resonating most for me right now.

1.) Your word creates your world.

This is one of the most impactful practices my coach ever offered me. She said, “Cat, your word creates your world. Be impeccable with your words.” In every moment in time, our words are creating our reality. Whatever we say out loud, we are affirming that experience for ourselves over and over again.

Whether you desire to be content, wealthy, or in a loving, committed relationship, what are you saying out loud about these topics? A great practice is to start jotting down what you say out loud about whatever it is that you wish to change. Is what you say aligned with the experience you desire? What experiences are you reinforcing for yourself? What we focus on expands.

2.) Throw out the business rulebook.

One thing I’ve noticed in business is how often we want others to tell us how to do things. How to become a millionaire, how to sell-out your course or launch, how to systematize your business…

When in reality, the moment we throw out the rulebook and truly give ourselves permission to run our business in the manner that is the most representative of and aligned with who we are, is the moment in which you will begin to show up authentically and begin to find your own stride and path forward.

Last year, we celebrated a 6-figure launch with our UNBOUNDED Mastermind and it was only possible because we threw out the “rulebook of shoulds and what other successful entrepreneurs do.” When we copy others or attempt to follow someone else’s advice or strategy for us, others will feel our inauthenticity and artificiality.

Give yourself permission to be your own boss and do things your way. Enjoy the experience of growing your business as much as you enjoy reaping the rewards of your efforts. If you don’t enjoy the process, it is time to reinvent your approach.

3.) Stop being precious with your gifts.

Oxford Dictionary defines precious as something that is “valuable or important and not to be wasted.” One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in business was realizing that everyone didn’t already “know” what I did and that I needed to stop being precious with my gifts and expertise.

The truth is, being a habitual person and a very systems-oriented thinker with a background in Economics and an MBA, for many years in business, I simply assumed everyone already knew how to run the backend of their business, knew how to manage their finances, and knew the invaluable benefits of tracking data.

I’m not quite sure why as it certainly took me severals years to learn these skills set, let alone more than one painful kick in the a** realizing I actually needed to put aside money ahead of time to pay for taxes, especially when I was earning significantly more than the the year before…

So many of us think that we don’t have anything new to contribute and often assume that everyone already knows what we do. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. One of my favorite quotes I’ve heard about this, “Nobody is perfect for everyone, but everybody is perfect for someone.”

You must stop being precious with your gifts. The beliefs that make you uniquely you, the compliments you hear time and time again, the quirkiest habits and qualities that make you so endearing, these are your gifts. Share them loudly, share them often, and notice how as you give yourself more permission to show up and be fully yourself, others show up for you.

4.) Give yourself permission to create the most beautiful life possible.

Kahlil Gibran said, “Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”

I believe that we all would benefit from giving ourselves more permission to create a beautiful life. And I’ve worked with one too many objectively successful humans at this point to presume that it’s not an inside job.

Give yourself permission to allow more beauty, more pleasure, more ease, and more spaciousness into your life. Makes choices in service of beauty, pleasure, ease and spaciousness.

As I’ve given myself more and more permission to live a beautiful life, I’ve created more and more beautiful opportunities for myself. And it has 110% been an inside job. It’s a choice we all must make for ourselves.
