5 Secrets To Success As A Highly Sensitive Person and Empath

Self-love is not a new concept, but it is one that is often misunderstood. To love yourself is to accept yourself for who you are, weaknesses and all. It means being kind and forgiving to yourself, even when you make mistakes. It means embracing your unique qualities and using them to your advantage. To truly thrive, you must accept yourself for who you are first and foremost. As a highly sensitive person, you have unique strengths, and if you are looking to be successful as a highly sensitive entrepreneur and ambitious empath, you need to know about them.

Highly sensitive people (HSP) are typically thought of as being highly vulnerable and have a lot of trouble functioning in the mainstream world, however, many HSP’s embrace their unique strengths and lead financially thriving lives because they are HSPs not in spite of it. Whether you are currently struggling with your sensitivity or have achieved some level of success as a Highly Sensitive Person, these tips will help you be even more successful.

Define Success as a Highly Sensitive Person and Empath

Success for Highly Sensitive People can mean different things to different people. However, when looking at it from a Sensitive Person’s perspective, we would say that success means being happy and peaceful. It means feeling connected to others and being able to live in the present moment. For example, highly sensitive people are often very intuitive and have strong feelings. This can make them good at sensing emotions in others, which can help them build relationships or businesses.

On the other hand, being intuitive can also lead to over-investment in relationships or projects, which can be difficult if they don’t turn out as expected. If you want to be successful as a highly sensitive person, it’s important to learn about your own strengths and weaknesses so that you can capitalize on them while minimizing your vulnerabilities.

Build a Foundation for Success Doing What You Love

In order to be a successful Highly Sensitive Person, you need to build a foundation of self-love and self-acceptance. You need to be willing to do the work, and you need to be patient while working in a career that plays into your strengths. There are several careers that are perfect for people with heightened sensitivity such as nursing, psychology, coaching, academia, doctor, freelancer, and more. These careers will allow you to scale financially as well as build honest, authentic relationships as you are naturally empathetic, compassionate, and intuitive of others’ needs

Learn to Show Up Your Way in Marketing

Part of scaling financially, regardless of your profession, is getting visible, networking, and marketing yourself or your services. Marketing does not have to be aggressive, and as an empath or successful highly sensitive person, finding ways to market based on your strengths will allow you to thrive.

For example, if you enjoy writing, perhaps blogging, writing in shared articles, or guest blogging posts, all while optimizing for SEO is the avenue for you. If you enjoy being on video, go for it. If you don’t, don’t do it. Freedom of expression is essential yet it can be dangerous to stray too far from your brand identity and personal strengths. So as long as you’ve got them in mind when deciding how you want to market yourself, do what makes you feel comfortable to express yourself artistically.

Living a Thriving Lifestyle with this Money Mindset

Saving for the future is an important topic, both financially and energetically. However, we need to make sure that our savings choices are benefiting us in ways that will sustain our lifestyle or goals. This is a topic that is often avoided because it can be difficult to balance money and pleasure.

Your definition of thriving financially is about how you view money and what meaning you give to it yourself. Money is just another tool that we can use to get what we want or need. By removing the emotional aspects from our dealings with finances, it becomes a much simpler game. When setting an income goal, it can be helpful to find examples that match your definition of thriving, and then make adjustments so that your definition will work for your own philosophy or lifestyle.

Thrive through Sustainable and Attainable Money Metrics

Your success is a reflection of your willingness and ability to increase your targets. It should be done incrementally, and you should only set yourself goals that you are capable of achieving. If you set too high a bar, or try to do too much too soon, this will lead to subconscious doubt about whether it’s possible or whether you’re really deserving of the success.
Take the time to define what you want your money situation to look like, both now and in the future, so you can create a roadmap for getting there. It is a myth to assume that those earning six-figure incomes are the only ones who can live comfortable lives. When you find something that provides you with enough money for the lifestyle you want, embrace it.

Expanding Your Capacity to Receive in Business, Life, and Love

In this episode of the Prosperous Empath® Podcast, I’m continuing the series on challenges that empaths and HSPs often struggle with and sharing practices, mindset shifts, and tips on how to overcome them. The topic of this episode – expanding your capacity to receive – has been one of the greatest transformations for me over the last decade and it’s something I routinely explore with clients. In life, there is an inherent polarity between givers and takers, and the majority of empaths and HSPs overidentify as givers. There are amazing benefits to being a talented giver (which is why many empaths thrive as service providers), but it can also be hard to allow yourself to receive and have your needs met, whether it’s in business partnerships or romantic relationships, to name just a few. In this episode, you’ll learn why empaths often struggle with giving too much of themselves, the consequences of this tendency, and how to nurture your ability to receive more and better.
